I hate how the Psychic type is bloated with useless filler Pokemon.

Psychokinesis is a much, much bigger deal than things like fire- or cryokinesis because it includes things like mind reading, mind control, teleportation and force field projection, and by extension it can act as other kinesis types since it can just use the psychokinesis to manipulate or control elements.

Pokemon psychokinesis doesn't involve mind control and barely involved mind reading. In addition, its teleport isn't actual conventional teleportation and neither can it control other elements beyond using force. The anime has brainwashed you, the games do none of this.

if you're going by the Pokemon anime they made a Lapras telepathic in one episode so your point is kinda moot.
