I do like most Pokémon including a lot of Alola, but you could cram all the best Pokémon imaginable into the game however you want and it wouldn't improve it in the slightest. It's just a bad, poorly optimized, generic piece of ass slop. Fucking debate me I'm ready (you can't).

The game still moves at the same speed as DP for the most part. Only Surfing and Saving was sped up and you still get periodic bursts of "Saving a lot of data" because of how shitty DS carts are. Surfing isn't a big part of Sinnoh like Hoenn is, that speed-up is nice and all but it's not something incredibly significant. Like I said, either DP aren't the worst or Platinum isn't the best. That huge jump from worst to best is a ridiculous assertion given how similar the games remain. It's a third version, not a complete remake.

The soundtrack, while shorter than most others in the series, is great.
Berries and Heart Scales are 100x less tedious to farm.
Champion title defense.
The battle royal was good because it was actually beatable.
There were several areas that were optional, so you could detour during the story (the cave on Melemele that leads to the bay and the second half of Poni Island come to mind).

Honestly, it wasn't the best Pokemon game. But it certainly wasn't the worst.
