>use Fire Blast
>it misses
Never use moves with less than 100 accuracy, lads.
>Use horn drill
>It hits
>use 100 accuracy moves
>the foe have brightpoweder held
>the foe avoide the attack
>>33459512
>use flamethrower
>miss out on several crucial OHKOs and 2HKOs
It's amazing how blatantly untrue most moves' stated accuracy is
>>33459512
yeah, I had a lot of bad experiences with this on showdown so i will never use them again
fuck moves that can miss
>>33459512
>use Scald
>it burns
I never use moves with 75 accuracy or less, unless if a Pokemon has Compoundeyes.
>>33461315
>use Thunder with Galvantula
>it still misses
Imagine tfw when it misses 3 times in a row
>>33459512
>be in game
>use 90% accuracy move
>it misses 5 times out of 10 instead of 1
>>33461453
That's because it's 1/10 chances of missing every time. The chance doesn't sequentially improve after each use. You'd know this if you actually studied statistics and probability.
Useless, cretinous moron.
>>33461417
It becomes like 91% acc. Still better but like Xcom, even 99% means that it will miss when you need it the most.
>>33461461
No, you're the moron
Imagine how unlucky you'd have to be to stumble upon the 1 out of 10 chances to fail half the time
>use thunder wave
>misses twice
>finally hits
>opponent is still faster and hits every round
rng was a mistake
>>33461470
That's how statistics and chance work, you entitled little fuck.
>>33461489
>>use thunder wave
>>33461453
This is why I always use a low-accuracy move before the 90% accuracy move. The first miss makes it more likely that my other attacks will hit, since it's so unlikely to miss twice in a row off of a 90% move.
>>33459512
that's why I refuse to use Focus Miss
just make Aurasphere a TM already GF
>>33463468
That's not how it works you fucking shitstain.
And frogposters get out, take your REEEtardation with you.
>>33463542
>Being dumb
I pity you. I'd tell you to read a book on statistics, but you probably can't even read this useful life advice.
Just don't whine to the opponent about hax if you chose to use low accuracy moves and they cost you the game
So many fucking children will kick and scream and whine to me like it's my fault they were too greedy to opt for flame thrower/surf/etc
>>33463542
>not using Sing twice so that it's guaranteed to hit since 55%+55%= 110% accuracy
>>33463573
>>33461453
learn about the concept of independence in statistics. each time an event takes place the same probability of the event remains. each time you use the move there is always a 10 percent chance that it will miss. the most likely outcome of 10 moves occuring is that 1 will miss but it is still a possible but unlikely outcome that all 10 moves will miss. its like how you can flip a coin and get 5 heads in a row, that is very unlikely because there is only a 50 percent chance of that one event occurring each time but it can still happen

Then try passing preschool before calling someone else dumb, nigger.
>been training my bellsprout, he has half hp
>battle against rattata
>use sleep powder, motherfucker misses it
>the rodent crits my poor dumb plant and he's now in the red hp zone
>use vine whip, motherfucker crits it to death
I went from "fuck rng" to "bless rng" in 5 seconds flat

Kek! Stolen.
>>33459512
>Put zoom lens on slow rock type

>Miss 4 in a row
Is almost like the game knows.

ok statnerds what is the probability of a 90% accurate move hitting 5 times and missing 5 times in any order
I thought it was (9/10)^5*(1/10)^5 which is uh really small
>>33463721
Do you even read what you type?
>unlikely outcome that all 10 moves will miss
Yes it is fucking unlikely that a 90% move behaves like a 0% move on 10 tries, and the frog poster was referring to how unlikely it is for a 90% move to behave like an average 50% move on 10 tries.
What the fuck is even your point? "hurr it can mathematically happen so there's nothing wrong with it happening at the worst possible time"?
>>33461093
It's amazing how little you understand about probability.
>>33461470
The odds of this happening are 0.0015, or 1 in ~66,000. Low, but far from impossible. And with how many people play Pokémon everyday, it's bound to happen to someone eventually.
>>33467836
Binompdf(10, 0.9, 5)=0.0015
>statnerds
This is basic shit, my guy. I learned this when I was fifteen. American education has failed.
>>33461093
Never gamble dude, people like you tend to become addicts
>>33467836
>>33469218
That's not how probability works.
You can calculate the probability of missing 5 times in a row, but there's no relation at all between each attack otherwise
You can't say "I missed many times therefore I have chance of hitting now", it doesn't work this way
>>33469244
There is nothing wrong with the last equation. The guy asked what the probability of missing 5 times out of 10 was, not if missing a 5th time was any less likely if he had already missed 4.
>>33463468
Should've posted Yoshiko instead.

Literally nothing wrong with the post.
Being annoyed/sad that you get a very unlikely sequence of rolls is perfectly fine.

others ITT were saying stuff like this >>33461093 so they just figured a frogposter would be just as dumb. stop being a dumb frogposter apologist
