If there's really no helping the breakup, you're gonna have to learn to let go a bit. It's a very hard lesson you might have to learn more than once but you can do it, if you and that person are meant to be it'll happen sometime eventually, but don't try to force anything or you'll never find true happiness with yourself let alone with anyone else.
I'm going to try not to give a long-winded wall of advice but please hear me out: there's always plenty of fish in the sea you just have to find them, finding the "other half" is a bullshit excuse for not making yourself the best person you can be- you're a whole person already, it'll get better over time and it's okay to be hurt just don't take it out on others, take this as a lesson and don't be too hard on yourself, focus on yourself for a little bit before trying again, come out of this better for it, don't listen to any advice from /r9k/ or /b/, trust me on this. It'll be alright, if it comes to it, separating yourself from someone else can be hard at first, but you learn to find yourself again through just doing you over time. Pick up a new hobby or focus on perfecting something you do already and heal what you feel was ripped out of you. If you manage to stay together it might not be a bad idea to do so anyway, improvement through your "self" tends to wind into improvement with other people in general I think.
