Or it could be the other way around. Ash kinda has a bit of a connection with that one Wimpod, and the anime team has shown they aren't above giving trainers different aces (Hariyama instead of Crabominable for Hala, Midday instead of Midnight for Olivia, Gladion using Midnight as his primary mon with Null in the back, Lillie with Vulpix instead of Nebby).

Speaking of shinies, should I evolve my shiny Dewpider I chained for or keep it as a dewpider? It's lonely nature (+Atk -Def) so it's no good in battle and I do love the look of Dewpider holding up the bubble.
