The only thing Both the Map of Diamond/Pearl and Mother 1 is that they have the Mountain of Plot in the fucking middle.

Also, reminder that Creatures Inc. was once Ape Inc., the same company that made the first 2 Mother Games. That explains how the map was structured in the first game as if it were to take place in Earthbound.
