Original Pokemaniac here. I'd honestly be a little disappointed. Kanto just screams for more depth / expansion, and I think a time-skip story could be very interesting.

Not really. Gen 5 had no remakes yet Gen 6 has the lowest Pokemon count in the franchise.

I think if they updated the maps, embellishing all of the bland boring routes that had to be small given the gbc hardware, making the regions more alive and large, hell I think it would be super successful.

Pokemon go is a testiment to the power of pokemania nostalgia, I think if kanto remakes happen, they'll be decently proffitable

The problem is we haven't gotten any remakes that were significant upgrades to their respective generations outside the gen 1 remakes.

Yes, that is what I'm saying. 5 games in gen 4 = 156 new mons in gen 5, 2 games in gen V = 72 mons in gen 6. Obviously it's not a golden rule, but your argument on this point doesn't make sense.

Other two points are fine though, except your last bit is retarded. Just because you think it's pointless doesn't mean other people will. I liked HGSS more than GS; I liked ORAS more than Ruby (Emerald was better though.) They get a better dev in there, or even make it a sequel instead of a strict remake, and it would be a very good deal.

Also Platinum was *almost* as garbage as DP. Distortion world and the AMAZING 2 new Fire-types were nice, but it wasn't a good showing. If they made a new version it would give it that oppurtunity.

Yes it does. There's no correlation between number of games and number of Pokemon. Gen 3 also had 5 games yet Gen 4 had barely more Pokemon than Gen 2. Also we are talking about remakes, not number of games.
