Replaying Moon has made me realise how fucking pedantic /vp/ can be.
So far I've had maybe 5 minutes of cutscenes (Including the intro which is infinitely cooler/more dynamic than "Van pulls up" like it has always been) and Chicken-Chan's face absolutely does change and has multiple times already.
Why do you lie /vp/? Who hurt you?

>So far I've had maybe 5 minutes of cutscenes
So you played for 5 minutes

>Why do you lie /vp/?
oh the irony
I don't ever complain about Sun and Moon but genuinely when does the MC's expression ever change outside of the two cutscenes we already saw in pre-release trailers
Sun and Moon might have problems, but I had fun playing them. At least they're decent enjoyable games, unlike the cringefest that is XY.

Well I've gotten my starter so a bit more than that. My point was more that the first cutscene doesn't really count since it's just an objectively better version of the "cutscene" we always get.

Well I can't be arsed looking through the trailers and cross referencing but the entire intro. Talking to Kukui and when trying to save Nebby for Lillie. And not just a "She opens her mouth", I mean she reacts to things. As you say that may just be because those bits are in the trailer, I'm not sure yet.

XY is definitely more cringey, if not just for that whole nickname and "HEY TEAMWORK" bullshit at the start. It also stops you a lot more because there's about 5x the usual characters stopping you every other route.
Actually so far my only pedantic complaints are an NPC mentions "On sunny days like this" something about following the wind (despite it being the middle of the night) and the Kahuna's legs in his first reveal are clearly welded to his pants action figure style.
