It's design is just generic. It's just a fat rat. I liked Alolan Rattata a lot more because of it's defining whiskers, and hoped Raticate could have been similar design.

it's pretty cool. Polynesian rats ate their way through the south pacific (Easter island got hit especially hard, lost all their native palms to the rats, which meant no canoes), so having Alolan raticate be a fatass was a nice nod to that.

Gen 7 is extremely bright and colourful.
It makes Gen 1 look brown and like it's literally my mom's gen.

But yeah, solid gen. It seems to have more single-stagers than gen 6, meaning more variety, so didn't feel as barren this time.

Alola had a lot of cool pokemon, I just wish more than half wasn't hidden in a sea of old ones. I buy new games for new pokemon GF, stop making so few and stop hiding them for fuck's sake

It's the worst region design-wise, only Sinnoh is close in how bad it is. I'm glad Ohmura bailed, because his oversight of the designs this entry did none of the fairly in-depth backgrounds they gave this new batch justice. At least his humans weren't as bad as they were in Gen 5.

I liked a lot of the mons in this gen too, particularly pic related. Wished it was grass/bug though, but before an argument ensues, I know it's supposed to be a plant, mimicking a bug, mimicking a plant.

Nice taste OP. Here's my 3x3. So many I wanted to put in, but at the core these were my favorites this gen.

I'm half hoping they redo the official art of most gen 7 Pokemon like they did with base form starters, or at least do the rest of starter lines and UBs.
