I've nuzlocked it before, ofc I died somewhere midgame but it was alright. You get a lot of different Pokemon from all the routes and caves so that makes it easier to build teams. If you use the Secret Base Level trainer, it becomes even easier, since you don't have to grind to train a new addition to your team. There is a level cap, so no overtraining though, and the gyms are tough since they're not based around 1 single type.
