The USUM following Pokemon threads provoked me to make a whole thread about Pokemon escapism/nostalgia/casual.
I've been lately longplaying SoulSilver for like the fourth time, and I still fucking love it.
Call me a HGSSfag, they just are the superior Pokemon titles.
Almost everything about those games is so imagination-stirring and enchanting,
it's really great for relaxing after work/school and escapism.
I sometimes literally feel like I'm living in Johto when I'm walking with my Pokewalker in late summer
Helsinki suburbs on a chilly evening among trees and the scent of smoke from someone's sauna.
It all went downhill from Black and White. Not that I haven't enjoyed playing Pokemon after gen 4,
but I feel like the newer titles have been more competitive-oriented.
Nothing wrong with comp. Pokemon, but I don't really like any competitive games,
I'd rather spend my time and mental effort on my studies and actual skills like programming.
Breeding, strategizing and teambuilding is just tedious and unrewarding to me.
Of course I've also got to give it to gen6/7fags because many things about these older games are really inconvenient and outdated,
and that's why I'm hoping for more post-game content and _engaging_ non-competitive features for us casuals in the future (instead of photo shooting etc bullshit).
Pic related, my oldest Pokewalker currently. Thanks for reading my blog post.
Gee anon thanks for that
I'm here for ya anon. I didn't even expect much and this photo booth bull shit kicked me right in my ball sack. All that effort into a stupid shit feature that will be out of sight out of mind

I bought the game on release and my dumb ass lost the pokewalker a few months later, is anyone selling one as a standalone somewhat cheap? (Under 30 dollars)

I still play my old Generation II games myself.
Didn't quite care for HG/SS but i'm glad more people are enjoying the generation in some capacity.
The drastic change of direction during gen 3 didn't sit well with me, but I at least enjoyed generation 4 a tad more.
