Make it a new form-changing ability called Costume or some shit. The spidery legs would just be part of the new form, and would preserve some of the mystery of Mimikyu.

Ability: Costume
After getting hit by an attack (Status moves, entry hazards, and weather don't count. Or hell, put it so this happens at half-HP since GF loves abilities like that this gen) it extends a spidery form made of shadows out from the bottom of it's disguise. This causes it to trade some defense in exchange for more attack. Let's say 10 points each stat
