Because of alternate universes, timelines, transfers, and all that junk, every single protagonist and Pokemon that they use from Gen I and Gen III onwards is canon. A LG Kanto FeMC named Marie is as canon as a FR Kanto MaMC named RED, or a Yellow MC named Ash.

If that's the case, how do you explain things like the Entralink, Playnav (more specifically, the PSS), and Festival Plaza? The PSS being given to you by Wally, meaning it exists in the game's universe, and Fesplaza being created by Sophocles himself. That, along with numerous mentions of the original RS timeline in ORAS, references to the opposite version in BW and ORAS, and Emerald's Anabel in Sun and Moon?
