What's the most frustrating team you've ever fought in Battle Spot?
early XY mega blaziken on every team
I don't remember the exact gimmick but it was someone running Dusclops with infestation and some other trap/dot moves
>>33307516
Legendaries shouldn't be allowed in online battles. Period.
>>33309519
I just kept killing them with the bravest of birds.
>>33309519
I always killed them with my Imposter Ditto. Let them pick up the K.O. And then revenge kill with Ditto.

Minimize Blissey with Ice Beam.
>>33311641
Fuck you smogonfag
>>33311695
Have you tried not being a scrub lizard
Did the opponents articuno ruin your win-streak?
>>33309831
Explain why.
>>33312017
they're too good
why would you use blissey or chansey when this monster of a special defence wall exists
>>33309831
>Gamefreak not letting the kids use their "cool" mons as a selling point of the game
>not being good enough to ruin their teams anyway
>>33312040
So we should also ban Blisssey because it makes lesser special walls redundant/is too good?
>>33312061
no blissey isn't legendary so it's fine
>>33312069
No it's actually not fine.
Blissey ruins the viability of a lot of Pokemon.
If we're cleaning up online we should do it right, not just stick to some title that means nothing.
>>33312074
blissey has 135 special defence
regice has 200 special defence
regice is way better than blissey because all legendaries are way better than normal pokemon
>>33312103
But it is still better than a majority of pokemon that have special defense as their best stat, it's just too good and ruins the viability of others
also:
>Celebi is better than normal pokemon

There are different ways to play the game. Some people like to cut their balls of and play by butthurt autistic child rules (smogon), others want to use shitmons, etc.
I know absolutely nothing about competitive Pokemon, but isn't this something that can be objectively solved by statistics? Like in Magic the Gathering, tournament winning decks are recorded, and if one deck is consistently dominating then the ban list needs updating. Does anybody bother doing the same with Pokemon teams?
Perish trap is really frustrating because it's just a really solid and difficult team to go up against. I've had games where I read it perfectly (eg Dark Z-ing Persian because I knew Gengar would switch out and Persian would parting shot back into it) but still lose because of how strong the team is.

We'll there's Smogon, an unofficial fan-run format and VGC, the official format. While VGC tends to just set a format for the year and leave it running, Smogon has a continually updating banlist in the form of tiers, so you can *theoretically* use everything in a format it can excel in. I sound biased, I'm actually a VGC player but I can't pretend like Smogon isn't better in this area.

>I'm actually a VGC player but I can't pretend like Smogon isn't better in this area.
The problem is that Smogon, as a meta, rarely sees the bigger picture and bans something or a reason that is reasonable, within the tier, but fails to see how this would lead to more bans within the tier and can totally fuck things.
It's like baton pass gimmick team except anything that can stop it isn't in the tier so they have to ban baton pass in general because flaws in their "complex" rules.
OU is a mess right now.

I can't tell you how many times those battles ended in the Whimsicott trainer Disconnecting.
