1. Go to https://randompokemon.com/
2. Pick two Pokemon
3. Swap their primary colors around
These are your new shinies for each. Are they better or worse?
>>33306967
>Swap their primary colors around
>>33306988
duh
how do
>>33306967
Neat
literally the same color
Jesus. This shit took much longer than I expected. A fucking hour.
Fuck ducklett's big sprite, background was black and it blended with some of the edges.
I'd say it was an improvement, if only not to feel bad about wasting so much time. Timburr looks looks like a Palette Swap with Musharna.
I feel like it's an improvement both ways
>>33310389
You did it wrong lol
>>33306967
Huh, they do look better swapped.
>>33310576
I did. I'm doing the regular versions now.
At least it's entertaining and easier.
Done. Timburr looks like a water-steel type now, or water-grass if you think about it as it carrying a log to make a surfboard. Ducklett looks as plain as the original, or maybe just a little better.
Neither looks like an improvement.
I love shit like this
>>33310690
This would have been amazing if it was real
I like them.
Carvanha's is particularly nice because of the murky ocean colors.
Well Arcanine looks better, while Registeel looks so different it'd be a different type.
>>33310839
It looks like it's made out of bronze
Honestly not that big a fan of this one
>>33310839
>Metal Arcanine
10/10 would train
>>33310839
Thank you for including the shiny. Everyone else can go back to the regular color swap thread.
Breloom turned out better than Emolga but I like both
Done. Took more time recoloring deerling from spring to summer and filling in lost blacks than swapping their palettes around.
Deerling looks pretty good, but I can't really classify it as a summer form, while Delibird looks kinda like a three would, with the golden bag being the star. Not good looking, but it makes sense.
>Honchkrow
Fuck yeah
>Watchog
Fuck no
Relicanth came out like shit, but Roserade looks pretty good.
>>33311128
I'm really surprised GameFreak didn't make Delibird's shiny green. It would make a lot of sense since Delibird's Christmas themed, the normal sprite is red, the shiny is green.
But nope. Gotta make it pink.
Not bad
>>33311330
They rarely make good shinies anyway. Green and Pink are the most used and then there's the ones that have almost no change in their palette.
>>33311297
Did another pair; these two were much easier since their number of colors was about the same.
>>33311343
reuniclus reminds me of mcdonalds
added shiny swaps out of boredom as well
can't say all of them look good, but I'd train the everloving fuck out of that rock frogadier
>>33312871
also forgot to shiny swap rhyperior, but it'd just look like slightly brighter normal swap, so eh, who cares, might do some more of those though, it's fun
>>33312871
I need that blue Rhyperior.
Did another one, and boy, this one was troublesome
The fact torterra basically uses 3 colors, green, brown and greyscale, compared to Cheasnaught 5 (green, brown, greyscale, pink and a very pale yellow, might as well call it bone) put me in a tough spot on how to use it, since I've had too many colors for Torterra, while lacking them for Chesnaught.
Shiny Torterra was a bit different, since I've decided to change the leaf color to Chesnaught's arms, while keeping the grass green.
Overall I'm happy with the result, Torterra swaps look like Spring&Autumn variants, while Chesnaughts became Grass/Rock and Grass/Ice, but as usual, it could've been better
Nuzleaf always looks neat; gives me some hero vibes. The leaf fits if I think about it as an autumn variant and it's not uncommon for some tree trunks to have a grayish look.
Uxie is one of my favourite pokemon, but I don't really like how this turned out. Regular shiny looks better.
>>33313076
Good work with these two. The Torterra Shiny variant looks neat!
>>33313238
Thanks man, I might try to do some more later on, when I have a while.
Gotta say your uxie recolor looks like a wooden statue, overgrown by moss a bit, which does give it a nice vibe.
Nidoking I'm not too keen on. His regular shiny isn't too bad.
Lickitung, on the other hand, looks pretty rad.
Megazard Y/Gliscor went pretty well, and made me notice that the Yzard's eyes are the same color as it's wings, which is pretty nice I guess.
Thankfully both pokemon used exactly the same amount of colors, which made me squeal like admech expedition leader finding an STC.
New Zard gives me vibes of Dragon/Flying, or maybe Ghost/Flying
New Shinyzard could be Water/Electric
New Gliscor is a Fire/Flying type 100%,
New Shiny Gliscor is Fire/Ground probably, although shiny gliscor was my favourite mon, so it doesn't win here by design.
For my next one prepare for Skarmbliss palette swaps
>>33314218
>nidoking is pretty much the pink one from the pinkan island
nice
>lickitung looks like a poison typeinb4 colors != types
Not the best but it makes sense with the tong.
>>33314703
Both look pretty good, I'm really fond of the shiny Gliscor. It could be a dark type too, or steel.
A ghost/dragonzard would be interesting.
normal | shiny | new shiny
they seem alright
Skarm/Bliss's only problem was that blissey palette was 1 color short compared to skarmory, but nothing that couldn't be fixed by quick bullshit magic.
Also I'm pretty sure I've heard 10 more minutes mom somewhere in the distance as I hit Submit
>>33314806
>A ghost/dragonzard would be interesting.this all makes me laugh since I'm using sprites from Insurgence's sprite folder, and one of their starters is just that
Breloom looks about on par, while Golurk looks like it could be a little better. But with the right shades, it would definitely be better than the one it has now.
Golurk was also a little bit tricky since the lightest shade on the darker blue matched up with the darkest shade on the lighter blue, but it wasn't anything too bad.
>>33314826
Pyukumuku is an improvement and Boldore a nice-looking variant. Maybe Graphite based.
>>33314838>insurgence
Thank fucking god, now I won't have to waste so much time with the sprites.
Skar base forms look better than the swapped, while Blissy makes me laugh now that it looks like a steel type with that shit defense. Would train the Normal-Grass Shiny tho.
>>33314956
Both look pretty good. Golurk looks like a prototype made of wood.
>>33315126
>Thank fucking god, now I won't have to waste so much time with the sprites.
You'll still need to find gen 7 somewhere, if you want to make some with them sinceReborn and Rejuvenationhad a nasty habit of making every fucking shiny a custom one, and 90% of their shiny sprites are fucking disgusting.
That being said you don't have to worry about that at all if you just palette swap normal forms.
>>33310759
>tfw Ho-Oh got its regular shiny, only a few shades darker
Lanturn looks pretty gross imo, I couldn't decide whether to use the face or the beak colors. It was also annoying to create the multiple shades of blue.
Taillow looks really nice though.
>>33306967
Neat, but I like the originals much better, with the exception of luxray.
I need this Rhydon in my life.
Houndoom's okay I guess
>>33310541
Rare Alolan Psychic/Rock Gardevoir
Old shiny Deino line > New shiny Deino line, but I like the Halloween colors. New shiny Krabby > Old
>>33317899
Dry Bones Houndoom?
I thought these two would look cool palette swapped, and I guess they turned out alright.
Swap A and Swap B differ in the coloration of the fangs - for example Swap A normal Vikavolt is closer to Haxorus' fang style and Swap B normal Vikavolt is closer to Vikavolt's fang style.
I had to finagle it a bit, but I surely do like that delcatty
>>33318886
that does look pretty slick
>>33318886
rad
>>33306967
first try
really underwhelming
>>33311343
literally delta scrafty
>>33312962
This
I kind of like them
Wheezing looks neat, but Surskit looks pretty lame.
it's "meh."
>>33318994
swapped surskit looks like the generic "let's make it pink" shiny, so much so I believed that was the actual shiny for a second.
the spooky ice coffin is pretty cool
