Niantic really upped their game with this one.

Each person only gets in for 15 minutes. You get to access one raid (Mewtwo), then you leave afterwards. Nobody gets two Mewtwo, at least for now. Seems to be moving very fast and no tech problems. Spoofers and outsiders can't even see the gyms for the Mewtwo raids.

You do raids in your area.
When that gym you raided at has a legendary, you will be notified and invited to go to the new raid.

This has nothing to do with exclusive raids. These 4 will appear normally until the end of the month, giving all players a second chance at them.

You just killed your own point. By making Mewtwo an exclusive pass-only Pokemon, the time and date is set by Niantic, not the player -- ergo, it becomes a game where you must be ready at any second of any day.

If it were like the other Legendary raids, you could take on a specific Pokemon on your own time. Can't make this two-hour window? No problem, there's a ton going on for the other 10 hours the raids will be active. You don't get that luxury when Niantic sets the times for you -- it becomes "free your schedule or get fucked."

I know no-one has a fucking clue how Mewtwo will work because Niantic can't announce things properly (if you look up the word "vague" in a dictionary it has a little picture of Hanke), but if I'm understanding it correctly:

- If one player completed a raid recently at a specific Gym, they'll get an invite to a Mewtwo raid
- They get "ample time" before the Mewtwo raid actually takes place
- During this ample time, they can tell other players that they got an invite from X Gym
- Other players can then go and complete a raid at X Gym to get an invite to that Mewtwo raid
- Ideally this would result in a group of 15-20 players getting invited to the raid and being able to participate

So it might work if you have a decent playing community in your local area, but it falls flat on its face if you're the only player in your area, if you don't have enough active players in your area, if you're on holiday, if you live in an area with no Gyms, etc. And of course there's still no way to communicate with other players in-game at all, despite the fact that the game was released 10 months ago and has become increasingly centred around co-operating with other players.
I mean, it'd probably work for my town, but it's really not looking good.

Honestly I was getting pretty bored by the end of the old Gym System, I had 20+ gyms and enough Gym Defenders for 40 more if I wanted to. The only reason I kept playing was the fear of missing out progress for whatever reason.

However, with the raids, the game has became one of the biggest parts of my life.
Yeah, the game is still shitty, but meeting so many other people with the same interests and making all these new friends you look forward to seeing everyday is fucking great.
And you can meme/not believe me all you want,

Doesn't the "exclusive" system benefit spoofers more than anything? Even a local only spoofer will hit a larger number of different gyms for raids than legit players, thus having a better chance that one of their "recent" gyms will net them an invite. They will also likely hit more gyms than the average player giving them a larger chance of an invite. They won't have to leave their house or office or whatever to spoof to the raid location once they've received an invite. This entire system is literally set up to give spoofers an advantage in every single way.
