Indian elephants.

Then why did they keep it in SM
Raichu: It unleashes electric shocks that can reach 100,000 volts. When agitated, it can knock out even an Indian elephant.
>>33267364
Sounds like the text description of a weapon or armour in a Castlevania game.

>>33267401
Nah, it's accurate. Here's the pokedex entry as it appears in the game:
>でんげきは 10まんボルトに たっすることもあり ヘタにさわると インドぞうでも きぜつする。
>インドぞう
Indozou is what Indian elephants are called in Japanese
Ultra Beasts, but ones far stronger than those we've encountered.

"When the universe was created, its shards became this Plate."
"The power of defeated giants infuses this Plate."
"Two beings of time and space set free from the Original One."
"Three beings were born to bind time and space."
"Two make matter and three make spirit, shaping the world."
"The Original One breathed alone before the universe came."
"The powers of Plates are shared among Pokémon."
"The rightful bearer of a Plate draws from the Plate it holds."
What did they mean by this?
>>33267584
Now I'm imagining that in ancient times, man watched Ultra Beasts battle Arceus and the creation trio.
>>33267699
1. Either all the chaotic energy around the universe were contained into plates, or some being(s) was/were defeated and trapped in plates.
2. Unknown.
3. Dialga and Palkia were created to shape the space-time continuum.
4. Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf were created to have the power of the Red Chain, limiting Dialga & Palkia's powers.
5. Dialga, Palkia, Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf helped create the Pokémon world.
6. Arceus was the first Pokémon to exist.
7. Plates are Held Item for all Pokémon.
8. Plates activate Multitype for Arceus.
>>33268266
1. Actually, I think it's referring to the Shard items being pieces of Plates.
>>33267364
It is a Dark Souls 2 reference.

Original Dragons. The one who was split into Reshiram, Zekrom and Kyurem was one of them.
>>33267364

>>33267584
>ultra beasts we have so far are the equivalent of common pokemon
>ultra beast analogue of legendaries have 1000+ stats
>>33267426
I'm fairly certain 100,000 volts would vaporize an Indian elephant.
>>33268539

They are not non-canon or inaccurate.

>>33268539
Pokémon BST are non-canon.
They shouldn't be acknowledge when talking about lore related stuff.
>>33268557
Fuck off, Richard.
>>33268523
No. They was split into Reshiram, Zekrom and Kyurem because of the twins fighting.
They are not related to Sinnoh myths at all.
>>33268539
According to the plates Arceus is very above the "giants", and Arceus has 720.
>>33268557

Ya know, now that I think about it, that Pokedex entry just may have been jokingly breaking the fourth wall. If that wasn't the case back then, it might be the case now (since real life animals seem to have been completely phased out of the franchise). They couldn't have replaced the elephant with a comparably sized Pokemon anyways, because we can clearly see Pokemon being struck by Raichus all the time and surviving just fine. Wouldn't made as much sense.
>>33268688
Naw. Animals do exist in Pokémon Earth.
They co-exist with Pokémon.
You're noob, probably.
You haven't realize that fact yet.
>>33268688
No and Lore-wise, Ninja originally use animals instead of Pokémon in the past
>>33268792
>>33268819
Fuck off, Richard.
>>33268792
I never said they don't exist—just chances are, they probably don't, at least not anymore. That entry you posted, though, is another fine example of possible fourth wall breaking.
>>33268792
>>33268819
>>33268688
Pokemon are much stronger and resistant than animals.
>>33268841
Little kids don't care about that stuff. Pokedex entries are just "uber cool" and fun little facts that make little Billys and Joeys go "Neeato!"
Will plants one day be phased out of the franchise the way animals were? Like, in twenty years will ever tree and blade of grass be a pokemon instead of a plant? Or will things like actual palm trees and exeggutor continue to coexist?
>>33269213
I really doubt that.
>>33267364
Both gen 8 cover legends are dragons. Screencap this
>>33269213
No.
>>33268585
You don't understand. Anon was saying that if Ultra Beasts are like regular pokemon in Ultra Space, there must be Ultra Beast equivalents of legendary pokemon that would immensely stronger than any known pokemon so far.
>>33269673
>Stronger than other known Pokémon?
No. Canonically, Machop is omnipotent.
>>33268688
Pokédex entries are for YOU to read to understand the Pokémon. Wartortle is the Turtle Pokémon (かめポケモン). Actual animals are used as examples because you have no other way of understanding the Pokémon. Do Indian elephants exist in the Pokémon world? Probably not, it's just to give you an idea of what Raichu is capable of.
It should also be said that the Pokémon world initially started as just a fictionalized real world. It took place in the real life Kanto region, there was no attempt to hide it with a different name. References like Lt. Surge being American, Arcanine being a Pokémon spoken of in Chinese legend, and Raichu being capable of downing an Indian elephant made sense in the context of the game. After all, you were in fictionalized Kanto where everyone is speaking Japanese in the original unlocalized Red and Green, why wouldn't there be fictionalized America, China, and India? Lt. Surge even uses a lot of English words in his dialogue which only makes sense if you acknowledge the language everyone's speaking not as "human language", but a specific real life language.
But after Generation I and Pokémon first trying to be more appropriate for an international audience (temporarily replacing Brock in the anime, the reduction of actual on-screen Japanese in the anime and eventual replacement with made-up languages, etc.) and Johto wasn't named the "Kansai region" (カンサイ地方) in any language by release, though I can maybe see that as an early development idea.
>>33269805
No. Animals do exist in Pokémon Earth.
You're noob.
>>33269823
Yeah, they're called Pokémon now. Maybe animals existed alongside Pokémon 20 years ago, but things have slowly changed over time.
>>33269838
Naw. False, my poorly educated canon-wise friend.
>>33269846
Give me an example of a real life animal that exists in the modern games outside of Pokédex entries.
>>33269860
There is a non-Pokémon butterfly in Pokémon X and Y.
>>33269879
>>33269889
Fair enough example, but I wouldn't be surprised if some graphic designer added it as flourish without really thinking.
>>33269909
No. That won't happen.
>>33268841
Most pokemon are undoubtedly animals, I have no reason to believe they are different
FUCK OFF, RICHARD
>Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma are Pokemon
>They came from Ultra Space
>They are also Ultra beasts
>Pokemon are Ultra beasts
>Pokemon come from other dimensions
>Pokemon start mimicking animals
>Fill the ecological niches of said animals
>Animals can't compete
>Pokemon are actually an invasive species that's run all natural animal life to extinction

>>33270738
Its hilarious every time it happens. When will people learn not to enable him?
>>33268523
I wonder if they would have the balls to make some regions belong to some sort of origin set and some others to a new mythos. Like:
Rayquaza, the protector of the skies.
Zygarde, the protector of the world.
Tal Original Dragon, the origin of duality.
Creation Trio.
So Every region bar Kanto/Johto and Alola are these regions who have a set guardian by Arceus, and every region without one is a region that has lesser legendaries protecting them, orobably long after the first era of creation. Or something.
>>33270128
Humans entered that universe by using RKS's power.
>>33271700
Arceus isn't omnipotent but Machoke is omnipotent.
In terms of power.
>>33268266

In DPPt. They're the only games where when you pick up a Plate, it'll have a message that says something on it,
