Such a feature is simply out of the scope of this game, doesn't fit very well with it, and is about as stupid as asking for "open world".
Now, if you were to ask for more pokémon customization, such as wearing scarves, hats and such, and custom pokeball animations (such as the seal case back in gen4), as well as just more customization in general, I'd be down for that.

Honestly this, people aren't really serious about designs of Pokemon. They just shit on current designs because there's nothing else they can do. When it comes down to actual design community wouldn't know shit and design a bunch of joke mons look at clover for an instance.
