Quick question, what else do people think Mallow could get because I've got no idea, all the Pokemon I think she could have gotten, Shiintoic and Lurantis, have already been shown off with her not showing any interest in them, Ash has already debuted the Grassium Z the only Z-Crystal she could have used, and I have doubts that Steenee will evolve again, at least without it seeming as anti-climatic and underserved as the last evolution of its, I even have doubts that Steenee can get a new move considering how she hasn't battled at all besides slapping around Team Rocket.

XY is just a terrible show all around. It's sad, really. When the best of what the season has to offer is only above-average battles, that says a lot. Seriously, say anything bad about XY and people will always talk about the same bland characters or boring battles. Maybe it's just me, but I need more from Pokemon than Ash being a bland generic main character, or Serena being the embodiment of a deviantart fangirl character. If you could even call them characters. In XY they're more like an anthropomorphous (insert character type here) rather than a character. And at that point I might as well watch a previous season, instead of a fanfic copy-pasted into the script. Maybe I just like strong characters and narrative too much, which is why I stick to books primarily.

I used to criticize XY as a whole a lot on /a/ and I'd get derided for seeking novelty in a premise because I said how derivative a show would be based on one. I find this hypocritical considering a lot of people that watch the Pokemon Anime will praise the show just for novelty. Pretty animations+good music+a "narrative" that isn't apparently bad is hailed as the greatest season ever. I also find it hypocritical to EXCLUSIVELY watch something for “cute” Serena running on screen with but drop Sun and Moon because it has too many female characters.

I can't even believe there's people who act as if XY is something sophisticated that is the pinnacle of the pokemon anime. Even people on /vp/ run around talking as if some boring shounen action show with bland characters is incredible and innovative. I remember on /a/ a guy tried to insult me for wanting an enjoyable narrative in stories, as if watching some fuck wandering around Kalos was a higher form of art. It's only until now I realize he was literally trying to insult me for not buying into fanfiction-tier bullshit.

It's a shame, even the best that Kanto had to offer managed to top XY. Which is a joke when the XY had 3x the budget as Best Wishes.

Hi I started this show a few days ago and after marathoning through most of it, I have to see it's a pretty cute show. It's not as eventful as some of the past seasons, especially XY, but I think I'm okay with that? I really like Ash in this season, and all of the classmates are really fun to see him interacting with. I wouldn't want the Pokémon anime to stay like this forever, but a nice slice of life island adventure is a good change of pace and it's really relaxing to watch. I am excited to see how they handle the ultra beasts, hopefully it's not all in a movie.

the league was terrible, and I'm not talking only about overhyping ash's victory only for him to lose, it's also how the main event everyone had been waiting for was rushed and quickly dropped for team flare's master plant that also turned out mediocre; the only part that I really felt memorable were puni- and bluni-chan's transformation

I find it ironic how much the SM anime mirrors the games. For years people complained that Pokémon was the same game every year with a bad story and repetitive gameplay, so for Sun and Moon they switched it up and tried something new, changing the gameplay and focusing more on plot. The only hypedg thing that happened in this series was Rockruff 3rd evolution however many people are disappointed to find him as a recolored Midday Lycanroc.

The upcoming episode titles has nothing to be excited over.
In fact, we won't be seeing Dusk Lycanroc in action much in the upcoming title! Just a battle against Team Rocket and that's it.

At least some titles confirming Dusk Lycanroc battling and defeating strong pokemon would have made the series a little more exciting.
