I highly wish they would do this. I dont want a harder difficulty. I just want the game to make me work alittle. Not knowing how powerful a gym is a great way for me to go grind or catch to prepare and if I still lose, then I can roam around leveling up until I am ready. Its a great way to keep the game fresh by not keeping it fresh at all.

MGS5 was an unfinished product that ends poorly because Konami went to the shitter and Kojima got old and salty about silent hills.
BOTW has things locked behind amiibos, paid DLC, and some of the worst mechanics I've seen in a Zelda game. Fuck em both.

Did they confirm gen 8 specifically will be open world, or just that they're making an open world game? To me, the move to open world is a risk that would be better taken in a side game.
