USUM should have connectivity with Go. Like every time you transfer a pokemon, it can be sent to USUM. doing so will unlock certain benefits like hidden abilities, BP, sparks, candies, etc.

There is already a game ID and emblem for it in S/M which would still have to be present in US/UM to keep them aligned so I'd have to wager you're waiting on Niantic.
Who are admittedly behind at least 6 months for having spent too much time on cheaters who they'll never get rid of entirely. Especially not on an open platform that they can't set the rules for.
