I actually really like the story in the Pokemon.
Havent got around to playing Platinum yet, though ive got it sitting ready to go at any moment.
I love the World-ending crisis plot in ORAS,
The morality dilemma in BW,
I really really like the story in XY (unpopular opinion).

the concept of catching, training, and battling with magical creatures, especially since Pokemon is the one type of game of this genre where the creatures naturally exist and are actual living thing equivalents

like, there's nothing wrong with them, but Digimon automatically states that it's all digital, and Yokai Watch's creatures exist with/for being a thing that causes things to happen

I guess I just like it better where there are nonsensical creatures that (usually) naturally occur

My favorite thing about Pokemon is the Pokemon world. A shame that the games don't really live up to the potential.

I think Pokemon has nice monster design which is why its so appealing to the mainstream compared to other monster raising games.
