Op here, i think they revealed the new lycanrock because its going to be the pokemon we use in the usum demo because if you look on the pokemon site it says that you cant catch it in the wild so it would make sense that the first new pokemon that we see is the one we will use in the demo

Except that's wrong, the demo gift is portrayed as event, even the code says Ash's Greninja is a mythical pokémon (so even-only).
Demos are different than regular events but still the same shit, Ash's Greninja was a mythical to promote SM and Ash's Rockruff is a mythical to promote USUM
