By "ordinary methods" they're referring to how you can catch both Lycanroc Midday and Midnight in the wild. It has already been shown that you can evolve a Rockruff into Lycanroc Dusk.

Remember how you get Inkay to evolve into Malamar? It will be some stupid method this time too, but now you must do it only at a certain hour and, I imagine, at only certain places in the game.
All this "it's gonna be DLC/a demo gift/an event mon" crap would be hilarious if it weren't so stupid.
