What do you guys like about Midday? I like the simplicity of it. It's almost elegant. The stylized sun mane works without there being too much clutter and pointless odds and ends that don't really add anything.

I honestly tried to like Midnight. But between the lanky arms connected to its giant paws and the randomly glowing eyes and weird grin, I just couldn't. I appreciate what GF was going for, but it just sorta fell flat, imo.

I usually like more complex designs, but I'm a big fan of wolves so the simplicity of this one makes it really effective for me. I've wanted a Pokemon like this for a long time, and I'm glad they kept it simple. The sun mane is a nice touch.

My day doggo easily pulled its weight with no problems. Rockruff on the other hand, isn't all that great early in game till it evolves into midday or midnight.

i swear to god if this new form gets some overpowered bullshit.... well i guess i'll do nothing but jesus christ why couldn't they make these dogs at least vaguely okay. they have bad but almost serviceable stats, but their movepool is so shallow. if this is going to be the lycanroc shilling game, they better at least give them some amazing tutor moves.

I think Midday's got plenty of personality attached to it, unless you're talking about animation. Then, yeah, GF dropped the ball in the animation department for Sun Dog. Like they did for a lot of Pokemon, really.

But my first Lycanroc saved me so many times during in-game play. She saved me from Totem Mimikyu and she solo'd Nanu's entire team. As cringe as it sounds, really felt like the Pokedex said, Midday coming in clutch for its trainers.

i'm still mad that venoshock literally stops all the animations on the model in gen 6. did they fix that in SM? like that triggers me so much.
idk maybe if i buy USM, which is unlikely (i haven't played every game and i don't feel a particular need to especially now, and i'm certainly never going to replay SM lmao), but maybe i'll try lycanroc again. i just feel like he felt not very good in mine. couldn't take hits, didn't really bring that much hurt. there were some serious killers (in game at least) in SM (bewear, ribombee, the bugs, etc.), so idk mine had too much competition.

It was the only good thing about the Rockruff line imo.

Rockruff was too boring and barely passed for a rock type.

Midnight was literally a goofy Sonic OC, that made absolutely no attempts to make it even come off as rock type. If anything it could've worked better if it was Dark, Normal, Fighting, or hell even Ghost. Or even as it's own stand alone species.
It sucks competitively. It works better as a literal counter attacker, which is a stupid idea for the Pokemon meta. It can't even take hits, so why bother counter attacking. At least Midday had some Speed going for it.

Plus it appealed heavily to furfags, thus making the design that much terrible.

The only reason why its rock type is because just before finalizing all of the new designs GF recognized they needed a Rock type. So they just slapped some pebbles on it and called it a day
