What happens when that special sweeper outspeeds and attacks, though? Hell, even a lot of physical attackers can OHKO Weezing. And what if they switch in something that resists or is immune or doesn't take much damage anyways because Weezing is a weak pile of shit?

I mean, fuck, I tested out a variety of mons that came to mind, and Gorebyss, Gardevoir, Torkoal, can all casually take either a Sludge Bomb or Explosion, and OHKO in turn. Fuck, Gorebyss even had its defenses lowered from Shell Smash. Weezing's Explosion can't even take down a Deoxys-N with no EVs in HP or Def. Fuck, why not just use Golem at this point?

Fair point. Black sludge is a gimmik because it somewhat slows trick users, but it's nowhere near as good as what would be required for high tiers. Pain split only works if the opponent is unprepared.

it's weak, yes, but you're not supposed to wallbreak with it. It's supposed to take down things with a high special defense but low physical defense, as a last resort.

Nothing, now that I actually looked at threats it would realistically face. Then again, with both decent offensive and great utility move options, moveslots are a bit of a scarce resource for weezing. I wouldn't run explosion on it at all.

Black Sludge is as good as Leftovers, provided the holder is a Poison type, so your point is invalid. Toxapex runs Black Sludge in OU
Its Sludge Bomb does nothing to anything with existing bulk lol even targets weak to Poison can take it. Weezing hits like a wet noodle

Singles in low tiers. It's outclassed by other available options in VGC.
Levitate is actually one of the main reasons why I use it, since it doesn't have to worry about Thousand Lmarrows in lower tiers.

I was not saying Black Sludge is bad. Black sludge is superior to leftovers for poison types, however, the recovery weezing lacks is in its movepool. Again, pain split is not all that great.
Taunt is supposed to mess with things relying on support moves, not set up threats which could easily outspeed and kill it.

Toxapex, and many other pokémon completely outclass it, you are right. Thing is, I was not talking about VGC.I am speaking about low tiers, metas in which the likes of toxapex do not exist, thus opening a nieche for weezing.

Your point on destiny bond is correct though, I withdraw that one from the list of good moves. I also fully agree with the fact that anything which can withstand weezings attack and has Taunt/substitude ruins Weezing.
