1. Buy 1 of BW2, XY, and maybe ORAS. Wait until USM instead of buying SM.

2. You can use Action Replay if you want events, or pkhex if you want to use homebrew. Or you could ask others to inject them for you.

3. Pokemon Bank. It's only 5$

I'd get one of each of those. They vary in quality, but they're all worth playing. If you have to skip any, I'd prioritize BW2 > SM > ORAS > XY. But honestly, Ultra Sun/Moon comes out soon anyway, so just wait for that.

From BW on, there's an application you can get for the 3DS that allows you to just directly transfer between games across Gens 5 through 7. It costs $5 per year, but it's much easier than past inter-game transfers.

Also I had an original 2ds with a cracked from the inside screen. Is it worth it to get it repaired? I don't think it's under warranty.

At this point it's probably cheaper and easier to get a new 2DS. The new model they came out with last week is pretty nice.

Does pokemon bank work for DS games as well? or do they need to be transferred to the new 3DS games?
