Pokemon hasn't skipped a nintendo console since it came out, and they said it was going to be a main game so unless they consider stadium a main game then I think it's safe to assume it'll be gen 8 or a Colosseum game that's fully compatible with gen 7, but that's even less likely than usm being platinum level good which would be the bare minimum for half the people here to care so what else are we going to speculate on?

I used to hate PBR for not having a real single player mode or at least some Stadium style fluff, but now that it's been ten years I can't stand not even being able to battle on a TV anymore. I'd buy a Switch game as non-functional as PBR for $100 and enjoy it as long as it's got 3DS connectivity.

I was thinking about this the other day (and meant to start a thread, but I didn't) and honestly, revamp the region by giving it larger cities/more cities, then connect the cities using routes (starting on 50+ so you can have a Route 66), remove shadow Pokemon, do what >>33149573 said and focus on double battles, have wild Pokemon on routes, make a bandit themed team that rides into town with Ponyta/Rapidash, turn Mt. Battle into a Battle Frontier-esque place or the place to connect to the internet to play, give it the modern art style as opposed to Genius Sorority, and bam, you've got a Switch game with a ton of hype surrounding it because it's Orre. Have many of the Orre Pokemon be Unova Pokemon to establish that Poke-America has these Pokemon (plus a lot fit in to Orre, like Klinklang, Conkeldurr, Krookodile) and maybe have new starters and legendaries that are great in doubles (nothing else new). Also this game would give a good excuse to have events and distributions for Jirachi and Celebi (and actually do in-game events unlike the shit we've had recently). I think that if GameFreak is doing this whole universe reset thing that they've been doing with Mega Stones, they may as well take a shot at Orre since there's so much untapped potential with that region. And while I'm at it, it's closer to Kanto/Johto/Hoenn/Sinnoh than Unova is, so I don't even see how it could be a faraway place anymore.
