Does it really matter what kind of Rival you have to go up against? At the end of the day, you're always going to beat them because YOU'RE the Chosen One/Protagonist and not them.
Blue can talk shit all he wants, but he's still getting fucked by my team despite always being in the lead.
Silver's just an edgelord who was later found to have Daddy Issues and then became a standard issue rival by the end of HGSS via his redemption sidequest.
