In Crystal if you choose the female MC there are more possibilities of female Pokémon, seriously, Cyndaquil, Eevee, Togepi and Odd Egg Magby all females without SR.

Pokemon, like Naruto might pick up cues from existing world cultures, but doesn't necessarily follow its rules. So in the Japan-inspired areas, they've become a melting pot over the years unlike real life Japan (though some trainers like Sabrina, Falkner, Janine, Bugsy, Pryce and Erika are full-blooded natives). Incidentally, Kanto/Johto is recognized as a world superpower.

The anime reflects the games, so they'd just make it a new device in the anime, too. As for the fixed catch rate, it would just be an additional "mini-game" that would increase the base catch rate. In fact, it's a good idea because then it's gamification of the catching, instead of just waiting (though it can be tense as-is and the fans might not readily part with it, but then again you could just opt out of participating and it would act like the original.)

There is nothing wrong with the idea.

Seedy areas like nightclubs and bars aren't shown in Pokemon games or the anime, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

However the jury's still out on whether or not live firearms ever existed or if GameFreak just chooses not to have them at all.
