I loved the overpasses with cars and trucks zooming by. I'm a sucker for worlds that are 'alive' w/o player interaction. Less NPCs standing around and more them doing stuff w/o you.

No underwater routes wasn't the problem, the lack of landmass and trainer diversity was. No reason they couldn't have used one of the many, many, unused islands in the final map.
