Honestly most starter evolutions have been terrible throughout. But gen 7 followed a trend game freak has been following of making "character pokemon" which have distinct personalities as if they were just solo characters instead of a species. I dislike that trend but I guess someone at GF thinks its a good idea.
I feel personally like if you were some young kid and you got excited by popplio, because popplio's design is pretty good, you could easily be disappointed by getting primarina in the end, just because of how strong primarina's character is. Like if you didn't want an obviously feminine mermaid pokemon, and you didn't know what you were getting into, I think thats badly designed.
The high point of all starters was probably gen 3, and gen 4 was honestly pretty serviceable. I hated delphox but otherwise gen 6 was okay, despite my over exposure to greninja, and I know other people liked delphox. The rest are all pretty bad imo.

It's okay, anon, I get it, you got frustrated that the 7th gen final evolution starters got revealed instead of these and now you're trying to bring them into relevance again.

No, I get it, I was even a fan of these (more of Pinnister than the rest), but seriously, it's time to let it go, these will never happen. Maybe in a alternative universe, but definitely not in this one.

Some things should simply be left alone in order to not cause any more havoc or controversy around here and that includes these guys.

If by some insane miracle this shit were ever to happen, I'd be more than happy to have my Pinnister and take it, but it didn't and it never will
