You know, some Pokemon will get you anything on the GTS, like Zorua or older starters. I got a couple legends by doing that. Try it.

I prefer having events in game with a storyline or little quest and area to go with it. I think something similar to the Regi's would be cool for the mythical Pokémon and stuff. Just a particular set of conditions started by a hidden cave or an NCP
After that I think promotions with spin-offs is best, then timed mystery gift key items, then the mystery gifts where they hand you a level 100 Pokémon are at the bottom.
I don't get why they can't do a mystery gift for a bit, then a month later add a password like they do for the Mega-Stones in Sun and Moon.
