It's raining outside~
>>33083205
it's raining where I am as well.
We should create a channel on irc or discord, if people aren't confident in using irc.
What do you think? We could name it comfymon and just talk about daily life things.
>>33083205
Not raining now, or for the past few days. Probably gonna have a nasty storm this weekend. This week's been really hot, and I couldn't go cycling around the countryside too much, quite a shame, considering I live in what's considered among the most beautiful places of my country.
>>33083368
That's a great idea. I'd vote for Discord, quite easy to use, and nice. Really need to get myself into some chat rooms or such, socialize, ya know?
>>33083433
Yeah. I always wanted to have a small group of online friends from several countries to talk to on irc, but I never got into it because when I was a kid MSN was the go to chat thing.
Let's see what more people say and I might create one tomorrow, if no one does it before.
>>33083368
This kills the thread.
>>33083572
That's why I would suggest going for irc instead. You can't post pics on irc.
>>33083594
Why not just post pics and talk here?
>>33083606
I just think it's not the same. Different feeling, you need to input captcha and it's not as good on mobile as a messaging app.
>>33083368
Funny you mention that. The reason i started these 3 threads the past week is to help fuel a comfy/cute board on one of my discords.

If we're talking comfy, how could I forget the beach from PMD. This is the definition of comfy.

This isn't comfy. Or cute. This is just disturbing.
It's a damn good artwork, but holy fuck.

weird
>>33092016
But, the Lucario IS comfy, you dumbass.
>>33092313
I dunno, his eyes tell a different story. One of endless suffering and incredible regret. He has that "Thousand yard stare". Or it's just me. Probably the latter.
>>33092346
If he laying down, he comfy. Or would you prefer this? HUH? HUH!?
>>33092400
>If he laying down, he comfy.
I... I feel like I can't argue with that logic. You win this time, diabetes. Have a cute I guess.

I'd join. Anybody who enjoys some comfy Pokemon has gotta be a chill person.
>>33084294
how the fuck do people come up with this. i want to start drawing comfy pokemon stuff but i can never think of simple thing like this.
>>33097295
Lots of practice and reference. I like to find real world places either through photos or my own exploration and then ground a pokemon to it. It's to come up with an idea and then edit it then get it perfect the first go around.
>>33097295
The artist probably had a simple idea to start with like: a rowlet looking down at a ribombee. From there it can grow naturally. What is it perched on? Owls and bees are found in trees, so let's go with a tree branch. How can we make it so that the image isn't mostly green despite being in a tree? Add some gaps in the leaves to see the sky in the background, add some red fruit to complement the green, and throw in some more ribombees. Most of it probably develops through trial and error in the rough sketch phase.
A cozy pile of Flareons. They're all cozy, I'm sure.

This is all I can think about.
>>33098325
I can just imagine a Flareon vibrating violently before battle to build up heat.
>>33098302
I do not want to play "Spot the Shiny", but I will not sleep well on this.
>>33088126
Winter can be comfy too. I personally think rain and storms are the most comfy things. As long as you're inside, that is.
I want to live with two giant fluffy dogs.
>>33101896
Fluffy fire doggo is the best doggo.
Though I prefer the Dragonslayer ribbon fairy doggo.

Can we agree that no matter the generation the overall Pokemon aesthetic is there, honestly whoever is the character designer always does a good job, there isn't a MC whose design is bad.

Definitely. They are all quite diverse and unique. Who's your favorite, by the way? Mine's Nate from B2/W2.

>>33107408
Good afternoon.
>>33107086
HGSS are my faves, although I like Hilda/Hilbert a lot too
>>33106412
Let me get some input; I don't think I could moderate, since after summer break is over I will have college again, and surveying is quite an difficult thing. I could see about it though, just don't expect me to be on 24/7 if you do somehow decide to choose me, which will probably not happen. About the rules, I think they should be simple and concise. The standard stuff, about not ruining fun. being polite, no spamming etc. I feel like a chill group of people wouldn't go above and beyond to troll or ruin fun. Just have some nice conversations.
>>33106412
Idea poster here. I'll explore more about how to maintain a Discord server and I'll create it. I don't think any moderation is needed because it's a chill chat for chill people. I will, however, allow only registered accounts and you need an invite to enter, which will be posted here for whoever asks. We can start posting in the OP that we have a Discord and to ask to join. I also always have access to internet at home or my phone, so if something is needed I should be able to do it whenever, but I'll still assign someone eventually that has a different GMT. As for rules, what >>33110129 said.
>>33109899
Good evening/morning.
>>33107086
My favorites are ORAS May and Lucas, but I also really like the original Gen 5 MCs.

>>33113397
nigga, WHAT?
Good morning, or night. It's 8 am now. It finally rained this night. That heat wave is over. Went to a small hill not far from my house, in the middle of huge fields to watch the sunrise earlier. Ah, the perks of living on the countryside, in a small town surrounded by forests. Waddling through the mud was a bit rough, but nothing some trekking boots can't help with.
>>33116057
That sounds super nice anon. Would have enjoyed to be there too! A fresh morning after a lovely night time rainstorm is so good
>>33117118
Yeah, with a morning like that you don't even need coffee.
>>33088126
>>33114641
One of the best parts of B/W was seasons. One of the saddest parts of XY was Paris in perpetual summertime with one winter zone.
I NEED seasons to come back. Imagine a Pokemon game with day/ night changes and music shifts, seasons, following Pokemon, and wide and various yet beautiful region to explore with hours of gameplay ahead of you and an amazing storyline. That is my dream Pokemon game.
>>33119788
Too bad GF will say each one is a 'feature' of a generation and never coming back.
We're lucky we got outfits in sun/moon.
>>33119788
Yeah, a region with everything. Rural areas, large urban cities, sprawling forests, cozy lakes, vast beaches. Pretty much an island, not a tropical one, like SM and RSE had, but a moderate one. Imagine eastern Europe but in the middle of the sea. I honestly think that story-heavy Pokemon games are the best, which is why I love PMD so much. There is just so much potential for great storytelling in the franchise, but it's rarely used. I'd also love for your starter to be more than the first pokemon you choose. I'd like it to be your partner. Your friend. I want to bond with my starter , and I want for it to have heavy impact, and be the major part of the story. I'd also love to see relations between pokemon. Different pokes in your party becoming friends, and for example becoming enraged and deal more damage when their friend faint. I know all of this is ridiculous, but hey, a man can dream, can't he?
>ywn fall asleep cuddling a furry pokemon like a stuffed animal
>ywn feel experience the devotion of a well trained pokemon fighting for you
>ywn ride atop a lapras
>ywn get to look back on your tenth birthday with nostalgia
>ywn have a cute, loving pet that is useful in some practical way
>ywn get to be the very best, like no one ever was
>ywn travel across the land, searching far and wide
Why even live?

I'd like some non-pokemon based travel needs. Like, instead of having to call on a Lapras, why not have an inflatable kayak or paddle board?
>>33119946
>Yeah, a region with everything. Rural areas, large urban cities, sprawling forests, cozy lakes, vast beaches. Pretty much an island, not a tropical one, like SM and RSE had, but a moderate one
So like Sinnoh?
>>33122167
Sinnoh>Johto>Unova>Hoenn>Kanto>Alola>Kalos
>>33122241
>>33122167
nah Hoenn and Unova are definitely more comfortable than Sinnoh
>>33122252
DESU Hoenn comfy is more sea influenced while Unova and Sinnoh is more urban. Both are good I just personally prefer a rainy night in a big city comfiness level.
>>33122276
Idk why I typed DESU, I meant to say DESU
>>33122285
Is that word filter still up? lmao.
>>33122367
Apparently hahaha
>>33122276
for me Hoenn was more about making secret bases in the tall grass, volcanic ash and volcanoes, and rain. It was the mix of water and land that really did it for me.
>>33122611
ha
Take it easy.
>>33122241
Switch unova and hoenn and you are correct
>>33115401
This is badass.
Whose excited for the solar eclipse this August? I'm just a few miles off from where the total eclipse will hit.
Any of you guys experience one before? This'll be my first one.
>>33124588
wigglytuff is a mon I've never used, but I keep seeing pics of and being like "damn maybe I should try it out".
>>33122167
Well, kinda like Sinnoh, but not exactly like it. It has the temperate climate, but I said I'd like for it to be like eastern Europe. Large Old Cities in the centers, tight and complex alleys, Old, renaissance style buildings, tons of castles, remnants of medieval architecture. Look at pictures of Warsaw, Prague, Kraków and such. Though Sinnoh is too densely forested and has too many mountains for my liking. I'm a very specific person, so yeah.
>>33125395
Wigglytuff is a precious marshmallow that calls you a retard and eats all your perfect apples.
>>33120671
It's probably because "We have pokemon, it's the defining feature of the series, so let's make them be used for everything!" Or at least I think that's the logic. But it would be super nice if instead of Surf we'd get an kayak, or a small raft. A pair of Hedge Shears instead of cut. A... Frequent Flyer Card instead of Fly?
>>33122241
Kalos is the comfiest region though
>>33125555
how do you figure? also congrats on your quads.
>>33125537
I'd go with the propeller hats they have in doraemon
>>33125730
Leaked photo of the Male character in GF's next Pokemon game.
>>33124815
Not me, unfortunately. I live too far up in the Northern Hemisphere. The closest place where I could see it is about 2 thousand km's away, so no total eclipse for me. I did see a few partial ones though. I honestly never really got hyped by eclipses though. What's really worth looking at are sunrises in the mountains and sunsets above the seas.
>>33124815
I saw one in 2002. Or around then.
>>33127726
>Inspector Gadget
As happy as I am that someone besides me still remembers this character, I just have to say: Nigga, are you out of your goddamn mind!?
This is such a nice thread
The world might be a big place, but this is one comfy sliver.
>>33131947
This is a real pleasant comment.
>>33125622
Mountain Kalos is super comfy and just kinda reminds me of the area I loved in as a kid. Really beautiful autumns and winters.
Also the fact that each section of Kalos (central, coastal, mountain) had a different house style that was consistent all throughout that section of the region. It's the little things.
>>33132318
Same reason I love Sinnoh, nostalgia factor and the immersion I had with the games in general really did it for me. Comfy forests, lake preserves, and cities hit the spot for me at a really hard time.
>>33132693
I frankly consider Unova to be the comfiest region. Castelia City, those huge wonderful bridges, probably the greatest "antagonist" in the entire core series, and of course, the seasons.
Snug in bed thinking of adventure
Phew, just came back form a bike trip. I made about 60 km's around the countryside. A huge highway going across my country is being built close by, and having to swerve between diggers and steamrollers was pretty fun. What's happening nearby actually reminds me of Route 4 from B/W, considering everything is dug up and there are huge mounds of dirt lied everywhere.
>>33130968
I really just want an all snowy region, snow is the comfiest weather.
>>33094002
This picture got me thinking, if you feed your pokemons with "human food" just how expensive would it be to feed your entire party? In this picture for example they are in a big city and stuff in big cities usually are expensive.
>>33136540
Let's take the price of a McWrap where I live, which is roughly 2 bucks. Let's say your party is mostly small pokemon; they all eat one McWrap each. That would be about 12 bucks. You, as a human would have to eat more, so you'd order an large meal for 6 bucks. That's about 18 bucks for one dish for your whole party. And that's considering they are all small critters, and not Rhydons, Fugs or Groudons, AND that prices would be the same as a small city in the Eastern Europe. It would probably go up somewhere in to 25$ if this was in a more urbanized country. Now all we need is the info on PokeDollar to Dollar conversion rate.
>>33136946
Pokedollars are probably more like the yen where 100 pokedollar is roughly $1.00. Makes sense when you consider basic goods like lemonade, pokeballs, etc.
>>33132780
>absolutely the greatest "antagonist" in the entire core series
ftfy
no one else is even close, though the pokemon community has done a good job with the ORAS antagonists
I still find Hoenn the comfiest IMO, but honestly they're all pretty comfy.
>>33136946
yeah but a fancy big city tower cafe like that probably has like an $8 sandwich. then again they'd probably have pokemon food that was hopefully cheaper if pokemon were a real thing, like how a can of even nice cat food doesn't cost as much as going out to eat a meal. but then again we're discussing feeding them something freshly prepared.
I started the first comfy thread 2 weeks ago and this is still kickin! You guys are awesome! Hoping that I have to start a 4th.
