>think Pokemon like Charizard and Blastoise would be like, 100 feet tall. They're barely taller then the average adult

Are there any legit Kaiju in the Pokemon world?
>>
>>33068166
Other than that dragonite in the anime? Not that I'm aware of. None seem to be that ridiculously huge.
>>
>>33068202
Anime Dragonite for one episode, referencing Godzilla and the classic novel, the Fog Horn.
The giant tentacruel, mutated and evolved by chemicals.
The giant robot Pokemon on the island...

But I don't think there's actual kaiju sized Pokemon, besides maybe Steelix and Wailord.
>>
>>33068202
I think the only ones that even come close are Groudon and maybe Regigigas.

>>33068202
Wasn't there a giant Tentacruel, too?
>>
>>33068221
Groudon's are normally only 10 feet tall. I GUESS that's a kaiju.
>>
No, Pokemon are generally not very large, and very rarely larger than actual animals.

Primal Evolutions seem to be pretty fucking big, though
>>
>>33068217
>>33068221
Oops, goofed and forgot giant tentacruel. My bad.
>>
>>33068166
The tallest pokemon is Wailord, At 47 feet 7 inches.
>>
>>33068166
Going based on the sizes from the games' Pokedex, there isn't really anything close to the volume (let alone mass) of something like Godzilla, let alone even some of the lesser Kaijus from his universe. Now if we go based on the sizes of Pokémon from the anime (and presumably how heavy they are in it) some legends like Groudon come close. I honestly ignore the 'dex when it comes to size/ mass of Pokémon, as most Pokémon are criminally underweight for what they constituent. Steel and Rock Types are the worst offenders on average for this, but then you get stuff like Wailord that is pretty much less dense than air when going by it's dimensions and weight.

Guzzlord. Pic related is official art.

>zubat weighs more than a pound
>actually weighs over 16
What the fuck were they thinking?
>>
>>33068278
But thats part of Wailord's design, it's partly based on a blimp filled with hot air

They're fictional even in the Pokémon world.
>>
>>33068166
God damn this is going to sound autistic, but they all qualify as kaiju, regardless of size. Godzilla and other giant monsters are daikaiju. No one used either word before that shitty Pacific rim movie.
>>
>>33068166
>Pocket Monsters
>>Why aren't any of them giant monsters?
I mean some of them are pretty big but one of the ideas behind the series is having big things in small packages.
>>33069262
I'll have you know I used kaiju about as regularly as you can expect giant monsters to come up in casual conversation a good decade before Pacific Rim came out.
>inb4 autistic
I was eight. And also autistic.
>>
>>33068442
Plus, it's called the "Float Whale Pokemon", so it actually makes some sense that its density is low enough to allow it to literally float in the air.

That said, there are plenty of other examples where Pokemon weights are nonsense. I get the feeling that the people who make the weight stats for Pokemon often don't think them through very much.
>>
>>33068166
The problem is that there is only one Godzilla and maybe one other monster his size. There are thousands of Charizard. If they were Godzilla-sized, 100 would be enough to destroy the pokemon world.
>>
>>33068243
That's length, not height.
>>
>>33069262
Anyone who was into tokusatsu (yes I know that ALSO has a less specific meaning but it has specific connotations in a Western conversation so suck it) would know and use the term kaiju before pacrim. So, weebs and nerds like you'd find right here on 4chinz
>>
>>33069397
This, plus what people fail to remember is that pokemon is written for a child audience in mind, so the average 10-12 yo pokemon mc is going to find a 5'10 monster far more daunting because they're only 4'10 themselves, whereas a 6' adult male wouldn't think that was so big.

Basically the world looks bigger through childish eyes
>>
Primal Groudon is big.

Gliscor is measured at 6'07"

Do you think that's head-to-foot or head-to-tail? I've always liked to believe it was head-to-foot.

The largest Pokemon is still a miniature, half scaled version of the real world counterpart. Pokemon are just small.

damn

That fucking robot pokemon episode with the giants, coupled with the fact that they were in the original series opening theme, made me think that Blastoise and Charizard were huge for waaaay too long.

>mfw people religiously believe Volcarona resembles Mothra the most
>when not only Butterfree has the same head and wing design but fucking Beautifly has the wing pattern and color scheme too
>>
>>33071456
You have a point, but Volcarona is the only moth out of the three.
>>
>>33070290
What about Kaiju Big Battel?
>>
>>33071456
You make valid points, but consider the following:
>Larvesta resembles larval Mothra the most, which might be even more important
>Volcarona is also treated in a somewhat mystical manner by the game's flavor (being found in an altar for example)
>it evolves so late and is more powerful than the other lepidopteran type pokemon
>>
There were also the giant tattooed ancient Pokémon, still not Godzilla sized though.
