Is there any good reason for electric types to run Thunderbolt over Discharge? That 30% paralyze chance seems like it could be a good idea.
discharge lightning rod in doubles is memes
if going singles, the 10 bp is definitely better than +20% more chance of para

I forgot Thunderbolt had a slight Paralysis chance. I still think there is a slight arguement otherwise, though. I just feel as though there aren't many situations where that 10 bp guarantees victory. I only ran a few calcs with Manectric, though, so there probably is something I'm forgetting. Either way, thanks, anon. I'll probably change back to Thunderbolt for the time being..

it just really depends on all the pokemon in question but you could probably run either one in most situations and be okay.
nice dubs btw.

Most electric types are frail and fast, so the paralysis factor doesn't really come into play. That 10 BP can make a huge difference.

It's good on defensive electric sets. Because you aren't worried about doing the most damage in those cases, having the better paralysis chance is more beneficial than edging out on damage.
You'll mostly only ever see it on defensive Zapdos or Stunfisk.
Surprisingly absent on most rotom sets, and I'm not sure why. Volt Switch is usually used since it's a great pivot, but a lot of them will still use that and t-bolt on the same set. I'm surprised bulkier sets don't try to substitute t-bolt for discharge. My only reasoning would be because most of them run wil-o-wisp, and you don't wanna risk getting the para on a mon you want to burn. You still risk it with t-bolt, but that risk is minimized.
