Do not get me wrong I get why smogon got so popular and useful, but ever since their peak in 5th gen they have been on a slow decline. They do not change up the meta much themselves which is embarassing when Nintendo is doing it for them. They have stupid ways of handling things now and a LOT of Pokemon are missing entries on their oh so godly smogondex. And yet I can go to fucking Global Link look up a pokemon and it tells me where it is used, how much it is used,.what it ussually uses gets countered or checked by and all that shit. Let alone trainer tower and new sites like it that help make sure us nonJapanese fans are updated on the metas. Lets face it Smogon is a dead horse finally getting its last beating. And everyone saying the haters are new to Smogon and shit i have been using it since early 5th gen. I love it for how helpful it has been but how its making the meta more stale for everything but VGC this year/gen whatever.

Having been around these guys early on, back in r/s/e days on Netbattle, I can say I honestly like the upper smogon echelon as people. All these rules are for the whiny fags like op who, when given everything they wanted anyways, turn on the hand that feeds. Smogon used to have a lot more regulation, and sanctions like a baton pass ban aren't a new idea at all, and have precedent for being banned in previous generations.
