I just want a mainline game to feel like an actual adventure again. It's a shame GF decided to take the laziest route possible with the series (including more story, focus less on everything else) instead of emphasizing what the games were originally about and expanding on it.

Played GSC and Emerald after SM and those games are still the most fun I've had with this series in terms of main game content.
