Is it even possible to come up with Pokemon in the Generation One style anymore? I mean something that really looks like it could be from Generation One. Can it be done?No genwars plz
>>33029065
Some stuff from gen six felt like it to me. Especially the Gogoat and Pangoro lines
>>33029065
>take an animal/object
>give it dragon ball eyes
It's not that hard
>>33029090
G-Gogoat feels Gen One to you? What the fuck is wrong with you anon?
>>33029065
Build your very own Generation 1 Pokemon!
>>33029106
You might be onto something here.
>>33029065
The style used in making pokemon has changed over time. It could be possible for a gf artist to emulate a genwun style when making a new pokemon for gen 8 or whatever, sure, but it is most likely not gonna happen since gamefreak has better technology nowadays, so simplistic designs with 20th-century anime eyes, random horns and simple color-coding are not the norm anymore.
>>33029133
And it'sfucking bullshit
>>33029115
I mean simple animal design with its type element slapped on it, like Rapidash is a horse with flames on it. I could see it being gen 1 or 2
>tfw barbaracle was a gen1 style Pokemon and everyone said it was ugly
>>33029065
It literally isn't since the original creators have had years of more drawing experience and ideas about what a Pokemon should be.
A time machine is the only thing that would work.
Gen 7 had some designs that were gen 1 ish imo
Vikavolt
Xurkitree kinda
Passimian is close
>>33029118
>having a consistant artstyle is bad
anti-genwunners are becoming more camcerous than genwunners
>>33029156
barbaracle is no where close to gen 1 style
>>33029298
>>33029274
>xurkitree
>passable as gen 1
>>33029417
Yeah none of these people saying "well this one from gen 6" are correct at all. There simply are no designs that you could pull right out of gen one, or really even close.
>>33029065
151 Pokémon that's easy.
12,000 Pokémon? That's a really challenge.
Take a plain ass animal or object that isn't man-made unless it's supposed to be a mimic.
Give it DBZ Eyes.
Add some random detail to it (something related to its Typing, for instance) and make that its defining trait.
Make it simple, but not TOO simple.
Make it complex, but not TOO complex.
Bam, you have a Generation 1 Pokemon.
>>33029481
Okay. Now do it, hot stuff.
>>33029065
yeah
>>33029140
Maybe, but we still see some "atemporal genwun designs" every once in a while. Nuzleaf and shiftry, granbull, abomasnow, and so on. I could even make a case for foongus and amoonguss: self-referencing body details like voltorb/electrode, relatively simple body shape and facial features, english names that are literal puns connected to each other... they're pretty genwun alright, at least to me.
>>33029118
>Someone saved that thing I made yesterday on paint
Cool
>>33029090
I might have exaggerated a bit, but I think pic related is how a gen 1 pancham would have looked like, more or less.
>>33029515
head is still too big
>>33029554
Yeah I agree, but it looked ugly with that specific pic of pancham.
>>33029490
would use right, would bench left.
>>33029624
Most of vp started playing in gen 4 so don't bring up gen 1 designs.
>>33029106
>Take a Taito creature design
>Make it pink
>Add swirls, wings or tendrils
Voila! Instead Pink Normal or Fairy type.
>>33029372
But anon is right, Barbarcle fag. The only thing it really has that connects to genwun design is the angry eyes. Other than that it doesn't seem follow th design philosophy of the first gen.
>>33030192
No.
>>33030192
Needs angry dbz eyes
>>33029847
>jagged edges
>simple angry eyes
>muted pastel colors
It's a fucking gen one pokemon, you just don't like it because it's new. Genwunners are grumpy old fags who are incapable of adapting to new things, no different than grandparents who don't understand the internet and therefore think it's the worst thing to happen to the world.
That pic of Greninja with the dbz eyes really fits with the gen 1style.
>>33029065
[spoilers] I want to literally marry Wartortle and start a family with him/her [/spoilers]
>>33030329
Now we're definitely in gen 2, but not quite to gen 1 yet.
