True, while I enjoyed ORAS and Gen 7 myself XY were still mediocre Pokemon games for me, probably the worst ones I have played, mostly because it story and characters were quite bland for even a Pokemon games in my opinion, which shows me that even with better technology and graphics that a game can still be bad if everything else isn't up to snuff, its why I always keep my hype down even for the first console core game.

That's because the 3DS uses future proofed models. The switch games will be using the same models and so will struggle with them less.

Also the difference DS and 3DS is much less than the difference between 3ds and switch hardware levels
