I've never really seen the Nidos as reptilian, although whether it has fur or scales or a leathery hide isn't really clear, so I can understand where you're coming from. It's a hunched over quadruped with buck teeth and long ears though, so it definitely has some rabbit qualities. It changes from rabbit/rodent to giant armored poison monster pretty quick once it evolves, granted.
