Grass was always viable as a defensive type, especially with the unique set of support moves exclusive pretty much only to Grass mons and some Bug mons (Leech Seed, Sleep Powder, Spore, Synthesis etc)

Competitive brainlets on /vp/ just cannot comprehend that something can be viable defensively without being viable offensively.
