They're barebones remakes that use none of the interesting things from Gen 2 and the other half of Gen 3. The Sevii Islands were actual padding garbage that barely had anything interesting going on. Not to mention that awful "Huh? Golbat stopped evolving?" because they locked out cross gen evolutions for no reason other than to make the game more barebones. It was the same game without the limitations. No excuse.

I replayed LG recently and the Kanto NPC's texts are fucking awful. I don't understand why GF didin't improve it and just made a direct copypaste from RGB. The difference with Archi7 makemakess it worst

Because unlike Johto and Hoenn when they were remade, there really wasn't much to improve with Kanto that was feasible on GBA hardware.

I never hear negativity over these games, yet if it was released today /vp/ would shit on it for not having a good post-game facility despite the extra content and improvements over the original

The soundtrack was great and move tutors were nice as a plus. And the Sevii Islands were GOAT. I don't know what you are on about. It was a nice revisit to Kanto with all the colors in and I like how they integrated Johto Pokemon post game.
