Oh, I sure would love to watch episode #315 where Ash meets a CoTD and is forced to help them find the Pokemon which Team Rocket stole.

That same formulaic episode again and again and again.

SM filler has been gold so far, and even a majority of the filler includes tidbits of character development and plot in them. The most unique episode of XY was the Mirror World - which involved Team Rocket capturing Pikachu and the Ash Who Jumps Through Time episode which was 10/10.

Beyond that, a majority of the XY filler we've seen before.

I don't get why Tomioka decided to keep Brock again instead of having him leave after AG. It was pretty obvious the writers had already exhausted Brock's character by the end of AG, so I don't know why they kept him for another 4 year saga after that. They could have just given Croagunk to a new male companion anyway since they were going to market that pokemon regardless.

A Pokemon gen has never exceeded 4 years. The anime gens go on the same length as the games. Both AG and DP went on 4 years, whereas Johto, BW and XY went on 3 years.

AG feels WAY shorter than DP. In my head I thought that DP focused on the gen 4 games for about 3 and a half years, and then spent 2 years on Johto stuff and the pokemon league.

Basically Aikatsu! but with Tripokalons and these characters. The songs they perform to are a mix of old anime OPs/EDs and new songs written for the show.

At this point I'd just make a final saga where Ash re-enters the Indigo league and wins there using all his older pokemon, then an Elite 4 arc and then some final Giovanni/TR arc.

After that show Serena as his waifu and maybe do a timeskip and show Ho-oh flying overhead one last time.

They were very good, and they remain very good even now. Idiots like to look at the raw number and arbitrarily say it's bad because it looks like to them, but they don't have a clue how TV ratings work or what they're used for.
