Not particularly. Last time I was on a Pokémon hype train was when /vp/ first started and BW news was slowly trickling out in 2010. I've been excited for Pokémon games since, but never on the same level of hype as those months. I was probably hyped so much for BW because they seemed like such a different take, even a little darker than Pokémon before it, and it was assumed that they'd be of similar quality to recent games, if not better. That didn't really end up happening, and successive releases haven't given me much of a reason to be hyped because I don't think they'll be better than what we got even 10 years ago.

I stopped being hype the moment I realised the final evolution leaks were real. What a bunch of abominations

This is not true at all.

There were 16 Pokemon not revealed before the leaks came out, and we only knew 3 of the Ultra Beasts. Plot wise, we had no idea what the hell was going on. Of course we knew Aether was evil but we didn't know why. At that point, we were still flooded with people thinking the Ultra Beasts were actually the human characters.

Nice counter argument faggot. And yes they are animals, the games seperate humans from Pokemon just like we seperate ourselves from animals. The fact that some of them wear clothing, are humanoid and aware of human concepts is retarded, some of them aren't bad designs though, they just don't belong into Pokemon. Same can't be said for the Alolasome starters, they have pointless and retarded features and gimmicks while looking like kids drawings. They are too wonky and humanoid in a shit way, especially Incineroar. As I've said Decidueye is less terrible than the other two but given my points that you chose to ignore it still falls flat. If it was touched up it could belong in some other franchise, but this is not how Pokemon and a passable design should look like.

I hate flaseflaggers myself, but this is how things are gonna be from now on. They have been making starters more humanoid since "they're supposed to be unique and cool" since you can only get them once and at the start of the game. Might as well make them stand out as much as possible. I've seen people saying that they would want starters to be more animalistic ala Gen 2, but that's a concept GF dumped around 4th Gen and we can't do anything about. The "no HM" thing did got trough, but I'm starting to have doubts if the decision was even made based on fan request and not just something they decided to do just to make Alola unique.
