I'm predicting plus and minus. It's mainly because the joy-cons have plus and minuses on them. Also, this one may be reaching but gen 6 has alot of kanto references, gen 7 is having lots of johto references. There are sun and moon pokemon in johto called espeon and umbreon. There is a duo of hoenn pokemon called plusle and minun. So gen 8 will have references.
