I'm not saying we're going to get Sinnoh remakes this Gen but HGSS came after Platinum. And they were the best remakes for it, since they were able to shove as much Platinum content as they wanted into it on top of everything from Kanto/Johto and the added HGSS content.

The only use for a gen 5 remake would be replaying the battle subway/PWT with access to modern breeding/mon raising mechanics.

HGSS didn't come out when the DS was on it's death bed. Releasing a DP remake on 3DS would be like if they released ORAS on the DS after B2W2. Besides Reggie said that the mainline Pokemon game on Switch was set for 2018. Whether it actually comes out next year or not it confirms it will the next one after USUM.

Switch is a on a more advanced 64-bit ARM CPU architecture from 2012

I'm not saying it'll be a breeze for them, but it sure as hell will run much better than what 3DS currently handles. Including GameFreak's spaghetti code.
