You're not really wrong. Most complaints people have about VI and VII apply to V too. The only real differences are the amount of Pokemon added, and that BW2 has some decent enemy teams and sizable content, but for all we know USUM will be BW2 Advent for those two factors.

Oh, and sprites. Because Pokemon only had the highest quality of sprites. Every other developer wishes they could be as masterful of sprite artists as Game Freak.

Slowbro didn't benefit from being a psychic type apart from resisting it. It is a subpar stab compared to water. Same for Starmie. Although it had more room for coverage, electric coverage was superior to psychic stab. Jynx sucks ass and is only used because fastest 75% sleep. Mew is a sword dancer this gen, psychic resistance is nice, but stab is useless.
