What are the chances of us seeing a gen 8 Pokémon on July 6th?

0%, we might get some sort of new feature in ultra sun and moon shown, but that's it. i doubt they'd show anything from gen 8 so soon. Especially when they need to focus on the upcoming games. it WOULD be interesting, though, but its very, very unlikely.

you guys do realize that they usually show a new pokemon in the movie leading up to a generation.

A recent example, the movie before gen 7 had Magearna and Zygarde Cell.

Magearna was not teased in the first teaser and zygrade cell was not new Pokemon.

Gene sect was teaser but we didn't know about mega mewtwo y until march and April

But Cell is obviously in reference to Zygarde Complete.

They said Premier, not teaser

If you want further examples, Lucario and Manaphy were both featured in movies towards the end of gen 3, Zoroark was shown in a movie towards the end of gen 4, and Lugia and Slowking was shown in the second movie. There are absolutely other examples but this is all I can remember without double checking.

This isn't the movie leading up to a generation though. USUM are coming out this year, not gen 8.
