Eviolite does work on Salandit even if male, but not exceptionally well. 40/40 defenses with 48 HP, and doesn't hit hard with only 71 Sp atk. 77 speed still outruns most of Alola, but you'd probably be better off with Marowak if you want something that'll actually be good in battles.

But I mean, it's in-game so you can make anything work.

I can confirm that Eviolite Salandit is difficult to use. I did a run with an injected one (started at level 1) that had perfect IVs but he still had trouble.

I made it male because I don't like Salazzle either. Liking Salandit but not Salazzle is suffering.

this. I made the mistake of replaying it and it made the game feel like such a slog to go through. Also if you care about you snorlium or mewlium don't reset because you can't get them back.
